Cutrag SMD Line

Project Overview: Ducting Installation for the New Cigarette Plant at CUT RAG, Zimbabwe

We are proud to showcase our recent project at the new cigarette manufacturing facility at CUT RAG in Zimbabwe. In May 2024, we undertook the comprehensive installation of ducting for Suction Machine Dust (SMD) management, ensuring optimal air quality and operational efficiency within the plant.

Project Scope

Our primary goal was to design and install an effective ducting system that would efficiently manage dust generated during the manufacturing process. This involved creating five dedicated lines of ducting connected to various machines throughout the facility. Each line was meticulously calculated to ensure proper flow rates, connecting points, and pipe diameters, tailored to the specific needs of the plant.

Engineering and Design

To achieve the highest standards of performance, we assigned a dedicated engineer to oversee the project. This engineer was responsible for conducting thorough calculations that addressed:

Flow Rates: Ensuring that the suction capacity met the demands of each machine.

Connecting Points: Strategically placing connections for maximum efficiency and minimal resistance.

Pipe Diameter: Selecting the appropriate diameter for optimal airflow and dust capture.

Through careful planning and design, our team was able to fabricate over 300 meters of high-quality ducting, tailored to the specifications of the Cutrag facility.

Upon completion of fabrication, our team efficiently installed the entire ducting system, which was executed seamlessly and within the planned timeline. The installation not only met but exceeded client expectations, demonstrating our commitment to quality and excellence.

The facility can now operate with improved air quality, ensuring the health and safety of all personnel while maintaining compliance with industry regulations.
